Visit of Delegation of Russian Federation Embassy to Nish
A high - ranking delegation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation headed by His Excellency Ambassador A.A. Botsan- Kharchenko visited Nish on the occasion of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory Day parade in World War II.
During the visit on Monday, June 22, the Russian-Serbian humanitarian center was visited for the first time by military attaché Major General A.I. Zinchenko and deputy military attaché Colonel V.V. Bykov, accompanied by the first secretary of the Embassy Mr. V.N. Alikin. The leaders of the Center showed the representatives of the Embassy films about the work of the Center, its logistics and training facilities, confirming the status of the RSHC as the International Training Center of the International Civil Defense Organization, as well as the potential of the Center for further development. Then, in memory of the day of the German attack on the Soviet Union in 1941, the light installation “Motherland is Calling”, accompanied by the song “Holy War”, was shown on King Milan’s Square in the center of the city of Nish.
On June 23, a working meeting of the Russian delegation with the administration of the city of Nish at which the Directorate of RSHC was present, took place in the city hall of Nish. In his statements to the media Ambassador of Russia A.A. Botsan-Kharchenko thanked the city for the assistance it renders to the RSHC, stressing that the Center, on its part, would always be ready to provide humanitarian assistance, education, conduct trainings and share experience.Within the framework of the official visit, a thematic exhibition dedicated to our common victory over fascism was opened, a ceremony of laying wreaths at the monument to fallen Soviet soldiers and prisoners of the Nazi concentration camp Red Cross and an excursion to the cultural and historical places of the city of Nish were held.
The visit finished in the House of Officers with a concert of Soviet songs of the time of the World War II and fireworks commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
