From December 10 to 12, the IV International Conference of Heads of Civil Defense Educational Institutions of the ICDO Member Countries was held in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Such forums are an effective tool for developing new teaching methods, evaluating ongoing training programs and experience sharing. To achieve these goals, the circle of participants in the Conference can be expanded and affiliated members of ICDO with rich professional experience and knowledge are also involved in its work. In Russia, such structures are the Academy of Civil Defence, State Fire Service University in St. Petersburg, and the Academy of State Fire Service.

The heads of the RSHC A.V. Mamchenkov and B. Kostic attended the conference.

In 2017, the RSHC joined the ICDO training system, received the status of the ICDO Training Center, created on its basis the material and technical base for training and advanced training of emergency services personnel of various states, and is constantly working on improving it. Thereby, RSHC is interesting for ICDO in terms of its potential “educational” opportunities, and also taking into account its location in the Balkans, where only two countries are members of ICDO - Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The main topic of the Conference agenda was discussion of the plan for training and education of emergency services specialists of the ICDO member countries for 2020 and developing effective ways for its implementation.

In order to exchange experience and get acquainted with the achievements of other countries, the Conference delegates visited the National Academy of Civil Protection of the United Arab Emirates, got acquainted with its educational and material base, attended the complex practical exercises conducted by the forces of its cadets.

In the final statement on the results of the Conference, all its participants spoke in favor of the need to continue and intensify the training process organized and conducted by the ICDO - the only specialized international structure.
