Laying wreaths in hospital in Nish
Employees of the Russian Serbian Humanitarian Center, along with solving the Center’s professional tasks defined by its Charter, devote a lot of time to interaction with local public organizations, participating in the events organized and conducted by city residents and responding to invitations from citizens.
This time, RSHC employees were invited to attend the ceremony of laying commemorative wreaths at the obelisk to those who had died from the typhoid epidemic, as well as to Serbian soldiers who had perished in the fighting.
The ceremony was held on the Day of Military Veterans of Serbia in the territory of the military hospital in Nish.
An interesting fact is that during the First World War, a detachment of Russian medical personnel worked in this hospital, which provided assistance to the sick and wounded Serbians and due to the decisive actions of which, the typhoid epidemic that swept this region by the end of April 2015 was significantly weakened and thousands of people were saved from death.
A memorial plaque installed on one of the buildings of this hospital recalls the work of Russian doctors.
