Emergency Rescuer's Day in Russia

On December 27, EMERCOM of Russia traditionally celebrates its professional holiday - the Emergency Rescuer’s Day of the Russian Federation. Every year leaders of relevant government agencies, firefighters and rescuers from across the country, colleagues from other Ministries and organizations, foreign states and international organizations gather in Moscow to sum up the results of the outgoing year and participate in the celebration.

This year the event took place on December 18 th in the State Kremlin Palace, where the representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia participated – Katarina Tomasevic, the Head of the Ministers cabinet and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and Ivan Baras, Deputy Head of the Sector of Emergency Situations for International Cooperation. Besides the representatives of the Ministry the delegation also included the RSHC leaders: Viktor Gulevich - Director of the Center, Oleg Ganiyev - Deputy Director, Bojan Glamoclija, Co-Director and Ana Popovic, Coordinator for International Cooperation.

It was a great honor for us to participate in such an event dedicated to firefighters and rescuers who daily take care of our safety in emergency situations. During the stay, the delegation headed by Katarina Tomasevic, Deputy Minister of the Interior of Serbia payed a visit to the State Academy of Fire Service of EMERCOM of Russia. The Academy employees presented the delegation the educational and research base, scientific achievements and innovations, the psychological support department, laboratories, training center for crisis management, exhibition halls and the Academy Museum. On this occasion the delegation also visited the group of the heads of departments of the Sector of emergency situations of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, who had arrived at the Academy foradvanced training course “Application of protective measures against fires in the design and construction of buildings and infrastructure“.
