The service of firefighters and rescuers is a difficult and dangerous job, unfortunately, sometimes in order to save others, they become victims of extraordinary circumstances themselves. Considering the rich experience of Russian doctors working in the field of disaster medicine, the Sector of emergency situations of the Ministry of Interior in Serbia requested the Russian-Serbian humanitarian center to organize a specialized course of advanced training for Serbian doctors.

Understanding the importance for the national emergency service of the course “Combustiology of Emergencies with classes in the Simulation Center”, RSHC organized it in the period of December 17 - 21, 2018 on the basis of the All-Russia Center for Emergency and Radiation Medicine EMERCOM of Russia in St. Petersburg. Doctors from Belgrade and Nish Clinical Centers, as well as the Deputy Head of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety at the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia, were invited to participate in the courses.

A group of Serbian doctors got acquainted with the structure of the ARCERM, modern methods and equipment for emergency medical care, paying particular attention to burn therapy. Two workshops and a seminar were held on therapeutic technologies for critical burns, on opportunities and prospects for surgical correction.

Practical classes took place in St. Petersburg Institute of Emergency Medical Aid. Serbian specialists studied the work of the burn center, the resuscitation department and the intensive care unit.

According to the feedback of the Serbian experts, this kind of courses is extremely important and necessary for Serbian medicine in general, and for the management of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, which pays great attention to the workers injured in rescue operations.
