International exercises and conference in Croatia

In October 2017, by the request from the Mountain Rescue Service of Serbia (GSS), RSHC provided its training ground for a joint training of dog handlers from GSS and the Mountain Rescue Service of Croatia (GSSC) on urban rescue with the help of canine. Despite the rainy weather, the training passed normally.

And now the invitation to the international conference and demonstrational exercises in Vukovar from GSSC arrived to the Center. Among participators were rescuers from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Center representatives arrived to the place of exercises on the 4th of November. GSSC head conducted theoretical part of the event, while rescuers and their four-legged friends held the practical one.

The conference also provided an opportunity for working negotiations on issues of interest to all parties: ways to expand and intensify cooperation, participation in exercises, as well as the use of the Center training polygon for practical sessions of services from Serbia, Croatia and BiH.

It should be noted that close cooperation has been established with the GSS of Serbia, rescuers of this service together with RSHC colleagues have repeatedly trained on “The Rescuer Path”, participated in practical exercises in mountainous regions of Serbia, provided organizational support of the European largest paragliding competitions in Kopaonik. The new joint exercise cave rescue already scheduled for the period from 17th to 19th of November in caves nearby Kopana Glavica in Serbia. Rescuers from Russia will also arrive there. RSHC provides assistance in organizing of these exercises. Tents and heaters will be provided.

RSHC leadership intends to continue with the cooperation developing regarding specialized structures of the region, both professional and voluntary.
