RSHC in Geneva
By fulfilling provisions of the working protocol signed with the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) and acting as an affiliated member of it, the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center actively cooperates with this organization in various fields: training, provision of equipment, working with geo-informational systems, emergencies monitoring and forecasting.
This time, ICDO organized training courses for specialists working in a field of IT-technologies and electronic equipment for Emergency Management Center. Dmitry Lisenko was sent from the Center to Geneva.
An informational platform for monitoring and forecasting emergency situations based on GIS-system through the integration of space and other open information into a single emergency database was studied within the framework of the course. Specialists from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus participated as well.
In October 2014, a powerful Crisis Management Center was installed and opened at RSHC, the potential of which has not been fully used up to now. We are confident that the gained knowledge will open new opportunities for RSHC specialists and the Serbian colleagues in a field of data analyzing at the national level, and will help to the formation of a unified database for the whole territory of Serbia.
