Memorable date for Serbian people
The Toplica uprising was the Serbian rebellion in 1917 carried out by the Serbian people in the Toplica district against the Bulgarian occupation force.
The ceremony of the grand opening of the monument took place in place Mackovac on February 26th. Hundreds of people came to the new monument, among them people from Nis municipality and RSHC staff. The head of Kursumlija municipality Radoljub Vidic noted great importance of the uprising for the Serbian liberation and its impact to the outcome of the First World War.
