RSHC ready to help

The conference about migrants took place in Palace of Serbia in Belgrade on 15th of December. It was organised by Ministry of Labour. Representatives of Center Ivan Sulaev and Sreten Dimitrijevic participated in it.

From the beginning of migrant crisis in Europe Serbia got a huge problem: the need to ensure basic living conditions to unprecedented number of migrants (900 000 people) that are going on transit through the Serbian territory. State authorities have declared that the assistance from the international community and humanitarian organizations is necessary.

The main theme of the conference was the Response Plan for 2017, which specified the amount of the required international assistance in accordance with the actual conditions and Serbian needs.

“Assistance in dealing with immigration crisis and increase its volume has been guaranteed to Serbia. It was based on the readiness of Serbia to solve the refugee problem.” – declared the Minister of Labour Aleksandar Vulin.

RSHC was among the first from all international institutions, counting UNHCR and UNDP, which responded to the call for assistance in solving the migrant crisis. While this problem was still discussing in headquarters in New-York and Geneva RSHC from its own reserves provided tents to the migrant camps in Presevo and Kanjiza, also sent dizel-generators, hitters and lot of other staff to the refugee point in Sid in August 2015. And today the Center again said about its readiness to help to the state authorities and to provide humanitarian aid.
