EMERCOM Chief is speaking about Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center in Greece

Vladimir Puchkov, the EMERCOM chief, had working visit to Greece. The Minister visited Mount Athos, where is located the Saint Panteleimon monastery. A few years back, in 2012, Russian specialists helped to put out wild fire near-by it. The Russian Minister and Greek colleagues used to discuss the protection of cultural objects against emergencies.

During the working meeting Mr. Puchkov met with Panagiotis Skourletis, the Minister of the Interior. During the conversation Minister noted that hat the Russian Emergency Ministry has consistently developing the concept of “humanitarian centers” creation. There are such centers in former USSR states (Russian-Armenian and Russian-Kyrgyzian humanitarian centers) and in eastern Europe countries - Russian-Serbian humanitarian center. The Minister proposed to the Greek side to consider wide possibilities of cooperation using Center’s potential.

“Russian Minister of Emergency Situations together with Serbian colleagues created Humanitarian Center in the city of Nis, which has been repeatedly involved in emergency reliefs. I am inviting your specialists to visit the Center and take part in its activities.” – said Vladimir Puchkov.
