Serbs in North Ossetia

Serbian rescue team together with the RSHC representative, Centrospas rescuer Andrej Niznikov took part in Second Federal Competition for volunteer units in mountain rescue techniques. This competition was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Russian Rescue Union. It was held in a beautiful canyon Tsey in the Republic of North Ossetia of the Russian Federation.

Serbian team was composed of Mountain Rescue Service of Serbia and Serbian Rescue Team. During the competition, team completed a number of different tasks: the ascent-descent with the victim on a stretcher, the team cross through the canyon and mountain river, exit to the glacier and the search for the victim using avalanche beacons.

At the end of the competition, the participants met with the leadership member of the Russian Rescue Union S. Shchetinin. During the briefing the sides declared their wishes to continue cooperation. S. Shchetinin confirmed the readiness of Russian volunteer teams to take part in activities organised by the Serbian volunteers in the Balkan region.

It should be noted that it was the first practical contact between volunteer rescue units of our countries.
